I’m Tresa Edmunds, also known around the internet as Reese Dixon. I’m a writer, craft designer, activist, and mom who was *this* close to totally letting herself go. I’ve decided instead to get my act together and rediscover the stylish person I used to be before sickness, pregnancy, and motherhood.
I have a lot of creative energy to burn. On my Creative Living blog, ReeseDixon.com, I talk about parenting, personal style, and come up with weekly recipes and craft projects. I plan on taking that creative approach to life and applying it to how I present myself to the world. I’m casting off the yoga pants and getting crafty about how I look.
I have three rules for how I dress:
1. WEAR WHAT FITS
And only what fits me. All over. No matter how much I love a classic oxford shirt, I can’t pretend I can button it when I can’t. Likewise, if someone tries to tell me that I shouldn’t wear a certain cut of skirt on my particular frame, bah. I’m trying not to hear that. If it fits, and I like how I feel in it, I’m wearing it. Advice be damned.
2. NO MOM UNIFORMS
I’m serious about creativity, so that means I’m not replacing my yoga pants rut with a skinny jeans and ballet slippers rut. I may wear the occasional scarf cardigan, but I won’t wear it every time I leave the house.
3. CHEAP. IT MUST BE CHEAP.
Not only do I have a kid and a minivan to support, but I also have a raging craft habit. I’m not spending my grocery bill on jeans. The end.
I have a lot of opinions. Would you like you hear more? Read the Manifesto
